Recent donations from Dana Rexroad of Bruceton Mills and Dr. David Moran of Eglon, matched $1 for $1 by Tucker Community Foundation, are helping to grow the Preston Community Fund (PCF) at a steady pace. A pilot program of the Foundation, the PCF was started in the fall of 2011 to provide a permanent source of scholarship and grant funding for Preston County students, non-profits and charities.
Currently valued at $1,600; once the fund reaches $10,000 the income generated will be distributed for grants and scholarships based on a competitive application process. A committee composed of PCF donors and Preston County residents will make recommendations on the awards. Donations of any size are accepted and the offer to match donations up to $5,000 extends through Jan. 1, 2015. Donate online or mail checks made payable to TCF – PCF to TCF, P.O. Box 491, Parsons, WV 26287.
